Harbour Views—Enews--December 09

From the Board of Directors:

Section VI Gate Damage:  Sometime after 10:30pm, on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 10, the East “IN” gate was vandalized.  A vehicle pushed the gate as far as possible, then actually burned rubber to forcibly break it open.  It was found the next morning broken off the hinges lying on the ground with the main tubing cracked.  The repairs will cost the property owners of Harbour Town at least $1,700.  The Board is offering a reward for information leading to who is responsible, so that criminal charges may be filed.

Vehicle storage - While trailers and RV’s have always had a definitive number of days in which they may be parked within Harbour Town, automobiles have not.  The Board has now established guidelines as to what is considered “storage” as it relates to automobiles and trucks:

  • Must be street legal (current tags and inspection)
  • Appear to be in operable condition (I E:  no flat tires)
  • Can only remain parked in the same spot for no longer than 45 days.

The Board recognizes that we do have residents who leave for extended periods, so an exception may be permitted by contacting the office prior to leaving

Smooth Sailing - By Commodore Kent Ferguson

If you attended the Halloween party, you know it was GREAT!  We had good food, good music and lots of amazing costumes.  Best costume prizes were won by Joyce and John Hallett, Barbara Godkin, Jeri and George Sturges and Fiona and Bob Toth.  Thanks to everyone who helped make this a super party.

Make plans now to attend the Harbour Town Yacht Club last and best party of 2009.  The New Year’s Eve Gala will be a great way to usher in 2010 with dancing, gourmet food, open bar and door prizes.  The fun begins at 8:00 pm at the Outrigger and goes into the New Year.

We will have a meeting on New Year’s Day at the Outrigger at 11:00 am.  We will plan the activities for 2010 and discuss ways the Yacht Club can better serve our community.  We are also looking for volunteers who would like to fill the Vice Commodore and the Secretary positions for the first six months of 2010.  Please contact Kent Ferguson at 936-228-0838.

As always, we want all property owners and residents to join and participate.  This is YOUR Yacht Club, where neighbors become

friends.  Contact Diane Streetman at 936-890-5620.

 Architectural Review Committee

The ARC has completed one of its walk-arounds.  Letters are being mailed to homeowners whose properties are in need of sprucing up, or are in violation of deed restrictions.  Please try to comply with these letters before the Christmas holidays so that Harbour Town looks its best for the holidays.

Also, there is an opening on the ARC committee as one the members is moving.  If you are interested in taking an active role in our community please contact the office at 936-856-4378
